THE FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2017 IS ABOUT TO COMMENCE!


The Frankfurt Book Fair is about to commence from 11th to 15th October 2017.The first three days of the event have been reserved for professional visitors while in the last two days it will be opened for general public and media persons. This book fair has a tradition spanning over 500 years, since 1454, when printing in movable letters was first developed by Johannes Gutenberg. Before the advent of printed books Frankfurt Book Fair was a primary place for selling manuscripts. Until the 17th century it had become the most important trade fair for printed books in Europe.

Today it is significantly the largest book trading event held annually in terms of the number of publishing companies participating, and visitors from all over the world. It is a meeting place for the industry's experts and the most important marketplace for books. Publishers, booksellers, agents, film producers and authors from all around the world gather every year in October to participate in this book fair, where they can connect with each other, trade books and negotiate over international publishing rights and licenses.
